Collect memories
“Our memories are the only paradise from which we can never be expelled.”
Gather traces that make your child tangible.
Ideas for later treasures:
• Make hand and foot prints in a natural colour or as 3D in salt dough
(recipe for salt dough: 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt, 1/2 cup (maybe even less) of water)
• Take pictures (taking pictures, photographing the child with and without clothes, requesting Herzensbilder, only in German-speaking Switzerland (from SSW 25), recording details, creating family pictures, capturing different perspectives)
• Make a film
• Sketch the child, draw it
• Write a diary
• Sing songs
• Write verses / poems
• Design a page in a commemorative book
• Paint a memorial stone for the child
• Design a Memory box
• Cut off a corner of fabric from the garment / blanket in a hidden place
• Cut off a strand of hair
• Try to have everything that goes with the child as a double, so that there is something to remember.
• Create a birth and death notice and send them out
